Love To Bake Osmanthus Konnyaku Jelly


I made this jelly for Lyanne's Party. 

Frankly it wasn't all that good recieved, mayhap due to the presence of the flowers inwards the jelly. It was a chip distracting compared to the shine jelly. But the fragrance of the osmanthus is genuinely sweetness together with delightful.

The other day, I was chatting alongside a blogger friend, together with she told me almost her latest konnyaku attempts. She establish it to hold upward rather clumpy. All due to a alter of brand. The build she is currently using is Jim Willie.

When I wanted to build this jelly, the alone build that I could honour is Jim Willie together with well, but become alongside it. I've used this build earlier together with it has never given me whatever problems, but that's quite a piece ago.  This time, the jelly became real soft, together with so soft that it feels similar I've added 30% to a greater extent than H2O to it. Usually konnyaku jellies alongside added acids yield a chewier together with firmer texture every bit the carageenan inwards it needs acid to activate, but I but don't know why this time, my jelly is together with so wobbly together with soft. It but makes nosotros wonder why.

The recipe is practically real basic. It uses the basic proportion of ingredients of making konnyaku, together with basic method too, no adaptations. Except for the add-on of osmanthus flowers.

Osmanthus Konnyaku Jelly

1L water
10gm konnyaku jelly
200gm fine saccharide /caster sugar
1 Tbsp dried osmanthus flowers
1/8 tsp citric/malic acid

1. Bring H2O to a boil.
2. Mix konnyaku pulverization alongside saccharide together with sprinkle into boiling H2O past times the spoonsful. Stirring afterward each two spoons.
3. Let the mixture boil for v minutes.
4. Put inwards dried osmanthus flowers together with permit it simmer for around other minute.
5. Put inwards acid, stir together with plough off the heat.
6. Pour jelly mixture into prepared moulds.
7. Let cool downward to room temperature together with seat inwards refrigerator to chill earlier unmoulding.

*To unmould, but pry using a toothpick.
