I tried a pumpkin prawn pilaf recipe from a local women magazine, together with unfortunately, I constitute it lacking inwards flavour (just my ain opinion). Personally (you may intend otherwise), I volition prefer to a greater extent than spices to larn alongside it. 2nd attempt, improved recipe

Pumpkin Prawn Pilaf

Serves 8

500gm large prawns (before cleaning)
1 tsp cumin seeds
½ tsp dark peppercorns
1 cardamom pod
½ tsp salt
Grind the spices together with marinate the prawns for one-half an hour


500gm basmathi (I used Moghul build that comes inwards 1kg pack)
500gm pumpkin (clean weight)
1 tsp dark mustard seeds
½ tsp cumin seeds
two cardamom pods
two inches cinnamon stick
1 star anise
1 onion, finely chopped
two cloves garlic finely chopped
1  or two Tbsp butter (as much every bit you lot like, muahahahah)
two sprigs of curry leaves, detached
two tsp salt
½ tsp turmeric powder
750gm water

1. Heat wok until really hot together with position inwards three tbsp oil. Sear each prawn until nigh cooked. (I role 1 mitt to position inwards each prawn together with 1 mitt to flip) Push the prawns 1 side together with allow the fossil oil menses to other side. (my prawns are alone 3/4 cooked)
2. With the same fossil oil (add to a greater extent than if seems likewise little), sauté the mustard seeds until they jump, together with then position inwards cumin, cardamom, cinnamon, star anise together with sauté until fragrant. Then position inwards onion, garlic, butter together with curry leaves together with sauté until the onions hold off translucent. Put inwards turmeric pulverization together with salt.
