Love To Bake Tahi Itik Duck Poop- Mff Kelantan #2

2nd attempt

Kelantanese kuihs direct maintain real cute names.

It's non made of poop. It's made from the remnants, that is duck egg whites from the eggs made into jala mas. Tahi tin also hateful remnants instead of poop. But is normally understood equally the latter.

My Kelantanese friends never introduced this to me. Instead I got to know of its being through Raykinzoku's site. After thoroughly reading the site, I constitute out that he is the blood brother of my colleague inwards Selancar. I noticed the relation because of i post.. the i regarding the earthquake together with and thus I called upwardly Sofia. The funny affair is that Sofia doesn't know her blood brother has a weblog until I told her The public is form of small. It's been years since I in conclusion heard from this dearest friend.

Ok ok, It was through this site that I constitute a trouble solid unit of measurement who made real delicious Kelantanese fare, together with thus skillful that they furnish to the palace for regal occasions. Raykinzoku knew because he is i  :) I was together with thus glad that the regal kuih maker resided non far from town, quite close the hotel where I stayed when I visited Kota Bahru. But I did demand to inquire some to brand certain I got the correct house. Even my fluent Malay can't instruct me some town much equally I can't empathise them, but they tin sure empathise me.
The Kelantanese verbalize inwards a exceptional dialect that is indigenous exclusively to the Kelantanese that outsiders may barely understand.

When I got inwards Nik Yam's house, (they laid upwardly together with sell their fare from their home), I saw this pile of white affair amongst pandan shreds on operate past times of the counter. I asked for Akok together with jala mas. But they asked me if I wanted some tahi itik to instruct along. I asked how practise they sell it, they said equally much equally I want. Now that's tricky. LOL. They don't scroll into balls similar how I meet it on the internet, but inwards i large pile.

I asked for RM ii together with they gave me sooo much. Then equally I meet her piling it on, I rapidly asked if I tin trim back it, she removed it until I said ok. Then the lady gave it to me for free. I wasn't feeling correct when non charged (because I wanted likewise little, my fault), together with insisted on paying. They said, it's their care for for me because they know I exclusively desire to sense of savor it. In the end, I accepted it. So squeamish of them.

I went dorsum some other twenty-four hours (after spending a nighttime on Beach of Intimate Love, null raunchy most the beach) together with bought a lot to a greater extent than akok.. together with regretted non buying fifty-fifty to a greater extent than when I got habitation to Perak. Everybody liked the akoks a lot, but I didn't direct maintain whatever tahi itik to spare cos I ate them all up.

Here is a recipe that I tried to copycat Nik Yam's  version of Tahi Itik. Her version is non real chewy, soft together with custardy, but yet has a soft bounce to it. I tried to instruct inwards three times together with finally got something similar.. I didn't instruct inwards equally sweetness equally hers though, together with also non equally skillful equally hers.

The commencement attempt's softer because I didn't add together inwards viscid rice flour together with it could hold out piped, but it didn't direct maintain that bounciness
The minute was discarded together with the third, I'm quite satisfied, but it is non pipable, together with thus I simply rolled it similar how it's normally done inwards Kelantan, together with stuck a clove inwards to decorate. It's also easier to photograph when it's non all white.
Because the amount I made was real piddling (compared to the kuih sellers), it got likewise thick earlier it fifty-fifty cooked, together with thus thick that I can't fifty-fifty stir it. So, I cooked it farther inwards the microwave.
